We recently completed a major two phase remodel addition for a wonderful family of four.
The original house had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a small (outdated) kitchen and a small disconnected dining area.
The first phase included opening up the kitchen by opening up the stairway to the basement, removing the kitchen/back bedroom wall, and removing the kitchen/dining area wall. The kitchen was completely stripped, the chimney was removed (and the old oil furnace), and the opening between the dining area and living room was significantly enlarged. The first phase also included the rough framing of the new entryway as well as other structural preparations for phase two.
Phase Two included removing most of the existing roof and adding a new level with two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The whole house was also completely re-sided and a new Zome-Tek deck was added the front of the house.
